Abstract

This contribution discusses the support of the editorial work for a scientific conference by electronic publishing technology from the electronic submission of conference papers to the production of the printed conference proceedings including a CD-ROM.

The paper is based on the experiences gathered and lessons learned while organizing the international workshop MVD'95 and, more recently, Eurographics'97, a highly visible international conference on Computer Graphics.

The experiences and lessons learned might be valuable to a general audience and not only to those organizing a scientific event in the near future (i.e., programme chairs and publishers).
