Abstract

In this paper an original query language, based only on the pictorial representation of a query is proposed. The database on which the queries are formulated is an object-oriented geographic information system already implemented. The definition of the data structure, of the operators and of the relationships between two geographic entities are given, and the definition of the visual o-o query language is discussed. Also some examples of query carries out by the implemented prototype is shown.
