Abstract
We have described a new research facility which should help to advance the subject of high energy physics and carry it to the mid-1990's where, if we are lucky, we can prepare for the final assault on the route to a Grand synthesis. If the apparent summit hides an even more difficult climb, we can only hope that a new generation of “Steinberger-equivalents” emerges although it is not at all clear that such entities exist.
