This report describes the discussions of a working group on the application of formal methods to human computer interaction. The group made a distinction between models, notations, and methods and discussed the use of these techniques in HCI. The group also discussed the problems associated with the use of formal methods in HCI and identified several problems that, if solved, would simplify the application of formal methods.
