Abstract

The paper presents an unconventional method of assessing the average power developed in the three main leg joints and the knee joint separately, of a normal middle-aged and a young man, during walking. The method enables the exclusion of expensive measuring equipment, produced only in highly developed countries, from the power assessment process. This creates the possibility of constructing devices of a new type, which because of their low price can be in common use in human and multi — degree — of — freedom anthropomorphic robot gait investigations and assessment.
