Abstract
Structural monitoring is an attractive solution for the maintenance of civil infrastructure to assure the reliability of the entire network of infrastructure system with reasonable level of investment. Structural vibration, which can relatively readily measured without damaging structures, reflects the integrity and loading conditions of structures. In this paper, state of the art of application of vibration measurement to structural monitoring is reviewed with variety of examples in engineering practices. Potential future development with application of artificial intelligence technology is also discussed.
