Abstract

Most organizations do not have a comprehensive or effective approach to the management of the software construction process. This paper describes QEF (Quod Erat Faciendum, that which was to be made), a system for large scale software construction developed by the author over the last twelve years and in use at a number of major organizations. The rationale, strengths and weaknesses of the architecture are discussed.
