Wordtutor: An intelligent tutoring system for teaching word processing

Abstract

This paper presents a framework for organizing knowledge in an intelligent tutoring system (ITS). We have found the proposed framework useful for implementing the internal processes of an ITS. in a way that enables it to act intelligently in such matters as choosing goals, tracking student progress, observing task behavior, anticipating-identifying difficulties, and offering help. The paper focuses on past and current work related to the implementation of WorldTutor, an ITS prototype that teaches word processing.
