Direct proton decay of 147 Tm

Abstract

Using on-line mass separation of evaporation residues from the reaction 58Ni + 92Mo → 150Yb*, a proton line of 1055 ± 6 keV energy and 0.56 ± 0.04 s half-life was observed. The activity was assigned to the direct proton decay of 147Tm. Beta-delayed protons registered at the same mass position were found to arise from the decays of 147Er(T1/2 = 2.5 ± 0.2 s) and 147mDy(T1/2 = 57 ± 4 s).
