Abstract

The quality of a teleoperating service is mainly determined by the resilience of the embedding communication environment. The notion resilience represents constraints under which the communication environment must adaptive react to faulty or unreliable conditions in the system in order to maintain the requested quality of service (QoS). To evaluate the communication behaviour for maintaining an expected level of quality, modelling is an adequate tool for getting views on the effects of dynamic strategies which depend from the current configuration. A simulation technique is applied to the service specification to get an assessment of the behaviour of the service. However, these results generally, are to be applied to the service implementation to verify the models' conformity to the specification. Thus, a modelling approach which supports QoS validation for teleoperating services is proposed. The Joint viewing and teleoperating service is taken as a case study to apply our proposals.
