Abstract

We investigate the hydrodynamic evolution of a high metallicity (Z=0.04) supermassive object (M=5x105M) through contraction and explosion due to hot hydrogen burning. It is demonstrated that these objects, if they occasionally should form in the dense cores of galaxies, can produce interesting amounts of 13C, 17O, and 7Li, together with radioactive 26Al. In fact, we find that the presence of about 5 M of 26Al at or near the center of our own galaxy can easily be explained if such an object exploded there within the last 2 million years.
