Abstract
This paper proposes a method by which service requirements can be structured. The method is then illustrated by considering the generic requirements of advanced services. Current IN initiatives, ETSI and TINA-C, are evaluated on the basis of supporting service requirements. In conclusion, important issues for the support of advanced services on the IN are listed.
