Abstract

This paper emphasizes the interest of using heat as a passive contaminant to describe a turbulent field.. Four examples are presented to underline the advantages of working with the temperature fluctuations in a boundary layer along a slightly heated wall. These examples deal with i) the span of disturbances from three point space-time correlations. ii) The behaviour of different events from conditional space-time correlations. iii) The diffusion of these sequences from conditional space-time probabilities. iv) The characterizations of the intermittency from the temperature itself. In this last experiment the conductive effect is discussed.
