Abstract

In this paper some results concerning the application of symbolic calculations in computer aided design of multi-delay control systems are presented. All considerations relate to the D2M package originally developed at the Institute of Automatics, AMM, Cracow, Poland. This package performs the transformation of graphically defined model structures and symbolically described input-output relations into MATLAB2 source code files which contain a combined model representation in an algorithmic form. The main attention is paid to generation of characteristic quasipolynomial. The advantages of the proposed approach are illustrated with the example of a distillation column design.
