Abstract
India is the world’s largest producer of a variety of millets, including finger millet, proso millet, barnyard millet, kodo millet, and tiny millet amongst the most important minor millets. The traditional method of millet threshing involves beating and trampling grains from the plant, which is time-consuming and tedious work. A machine has been designed to increase output quality, productivity, and also address labour shortage. It contains feeding hopper, concave, sieve, rolling cylinder, motor, and belt drive for threshing. It can thresh 40 kg millet per hour with beater pegs and wire loops mounted on cylinder with 70.47% threshing efficiency.
