Abstract

1,4-Dihydropyridines (1,4-DHPs) are very important heterocyclic structures from which a large number of compounds are known in the field of drugs and pharmaceuticals. Interest in 1,4-dihydropyridines is mainly due to nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH), a coenzyme, with unique ability to reduce various functional groups in biological systems. They are also known for resistance reversal properties and antitubercular activities. The present study involves the reaction of three components like an aldehyde, enamine, and di keto compounds to synthesize 1,4-dihydropyridines in good yields by using green chemistry idea that is the use of an eco-friendly solvent and a catalyst TBAHS.
