Abstract
This chapter specifically reviews studies that have been done with disulfiram in head on comparisons with other agents used in the long-term management of alcohol dependence. This chapter also analyses the potential combinations of pharmacotherapy with disulfiram which would supplement, synergize and even enhance the effect of disulfiram therapy. Various drugs used in the pharmacotherapy of alcohol dependence are analyzed in the context of their use with disulfiram.
