Abstract

In this paper, the thermal control design of the radar seeker under different working modes is studied for the high integration degree and heat loss of the phased array radar seeker. The whole machine design concept of “changing duty cycle to reduce the transmission power consumption” and the management method for full cycle power optimization are proposed. This paper also calculates the heat sink of the phased array antenna (T/R modules) and terminal module. The thermal simulation software FLOTHERM is used to perform detailed thermal simulation of the phased array radar seeker. The transient analysis is used to predict the temperature rise of each chip in the internal module of the seeker. Through the design, analysis and test verification of the thermal control scheme on multiple active phased array radar seekers, a set of thermal control schemes that can effectively solve the operating conditions of active phased array radar seekers under different conditions are proposed.
