Abstract

Due to the large number of parts and connections etc. in complex electronic equipment, it always takes a lot of time to carry out the pre-processing work in the finite element simulation with workbench. In addition, problems such as constraint loss, over-constraint caused by automatic constraint generation and material loss are easy to occur with the model update, which will lead to a lot of repetitive works. The pre-processing is always time-consuming and error-prone especially for complex model. In view of the characteristics of pretreatment in finite element simulation, plug-ins are developed to simplify the pre-processing work for workbench with IronPython, which could realize the automatic recognition of circular holes and the setting up of beam elements, as well as, automatically repair the contact, connection, material settings and other pre-processing work after the model modification. It would avoid the repetitive work in pre-processing which would improve the efficiency of pre-processing and reduce the intensity of finite element simulation works.
