Lobsters: Biology, Fisheries and Aquaculture

Abstract

The checklist of marine lobsters is updated. The current count consists of 6 families, 54 genera and 260 species (with 4 subspecies). Although the present list differs from the latest checklist of 2010, in the addition of nine species and one less genus, six synonymies (one genus, four species, one subspecies) have been discovered while one subspecies has been revived.
