Abstract

In this chapter, we summarize the basics of the theoretical model of structure formation in the universe. we begin with the dynamics of homogeneous cosmic expansion under General Relativity and describe the time evolution of perturbation of matter density field. In order to compare with the theoretical model and observation, we introduce some statistical quantities which can be estimated from observation.
