Abstract
We now focus on the child and why we must be able to see play from the child’s perspective as well as from the educator’s perspective. If, as Vygotsky (2004) suggests play is considered a ‘creative reworking’ of the child’s impression of an experience, then being able to examine play from the child’s perspective has pedagogical implications for learning and development.
