Advances in Intelligent Manufacturing

Abstract

SMEs play an important role in manufacturing output, hence its growth and studies are essential. In today’s globalization-oriented world, sustainable manufacturing is achieved through cost preserving and at the same time being environmentally aware. With prior information, Lean, Green and Agile manufacturing system (LGAM) can achieve huge success if they are implemented simultaneously. Hence SMEs must integrate into LGAMS as it would take concern of environment, economically and also socially. Thus, in this paper a detailed study is being provided on factors affecting LGAM from industrial experts, academia and with the help of literature review. The factors are identified and ranked with the help of entropy approach and VIKOR. The result shows that customer feedback system, empowered worker and innovation are the three most important factors for implementation of integrated LGAM in SMEs. Finally, the paper binds up with managing a ramification which helps in framing the policy for governmental or industrial organization for considering some crucial factors to alleviate the integrated LGAM effectuation in Indian SMEs with limited funds and resources.
