Abstract
Up to the previous chapters we have focused our attention mainly on dynamical processes which are realized in the framework of MHD approximations. In this chapter some important processes which are not described by idealized MHD equations are mentioned. We choose two issues. One is ambipolar diffusion and the other is reconnection processes of magnetic fields.

Notes
- 1.
A formula of vector analyses:
$$\displaystyle \begin{aligned}({\boldsymbol A}\times{\boldsymbol B})\times{\boldsymbol C}={\boldsymbol B}({\boldsymbol A}\cdot{\boldsymbol C})-{\boldsymbol A}({\boldsymbol B}\cdot{\boldsymbol C}). \end{aligned}$$has been adopted, where A, B, and C are arbitrary vectors.
- 2.
The magnetic Reynolds number is usually defined by \(\mathcal {R}_{\mathrm {m}}=vL/\eta \), where v is a typical flow velocity. Here, Alfvén speed is adopted as v.
