Abstract
Professional qualifications for adult educators have been subject of discussions and a research question for more than thirty years. In an overview of adult learning programs for training adult educators in Western Europe professionalization is said to be the ‘rationale’ behind the interest in adult education. Today, the training of adult educators is an integrated part of adult learning in a lifelong perspective.
