Abstract
This paper presents the study of a repairable complex system entailing of two subsystems in a series configuration with a controller. Under consideration of operations, the subsystem-1 works 2-out-of-4: G policy but the subsystem-2 has a single unit which is coupled with subsystem-1 in a series arrangement. The subsystem-1 has assumed to suffer by two types of failures, namely partial failure and complete failure. Further, the partial failure has been categorized into two kinds of partial failures (minor partial failure and major partial failure). The minor partial failures degrade the efficiency of the system, but due to major partial failure the system can work with seriously degraded mode, which may cause sudden damage by a further operation. The failure rates of both subsystems and controller are constant and follow the negative exponential distribution, but the repair follows two kinds of distribution. The supplementary variable technique has employed to assess the system for particular cases. The graph has demonstrated numerical results.
