Abstract

This chapter supplies some general notes on the scope of the book and the idealizations used. The first part explains the electrostatic and quasi-electrostatic fields that are the core subjects of the book. The second part exemplifies the simplified or idealized concepts and/or conditions relating to charge and the configurations and shapes of conductors and solid dielectrics.
