Abstract
An important part of examination of the eye in many general ophthalmology clinics is to decide on the power of the spectacles the patient requires in case the patient has a refractive error. In health systems where the optometrist do not have a significant presence it is the Ophthalmologists who prescribe the glasses. Prescribing glasses is not just science but also an art. It needs a certain amount of experience and an understanding of the plasticity of the human brain.
