Abstract

It was said in the past that the bread and butter of an Ophthalmologist is refraction and cataract surgery, respectively. This was of course in the days when an ophthalmologist true to his name looked after all the diseases of the eye! Examination of the lens with a slit lamp is a must. However the periphery of the lens and its support cannot be seen directly and need indirect methods to assess their integrity. The examination of the lens is more than looking for a cataract to operate.
