Abstract
Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is a prominent modulation method applied in wireless communication cellular network. OFDM is one of the multicarrier techniques that give an efficient way to handle high-speed data in multipath fading atmosphere. But there are various disadvantages such as high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) and out-of-band (OOB) emissions of OFDM which stop its further utility in upcoming cellular networks. Wavelet-based systems are considered to be better as they provide complete information of a signal in frequency as well as time domain. We have studied the suitability of constant envelope multicarrier modulation technique, OFDM, and wavelet-based systems. This paper focuses on the performance analysis of wavelet-based and OFDSM-based systems by analyzing BER and SNR. Simulation is carried out by using MATLAB, and graph between BER and SNR is plotted and studied for performance enhancement.
