Abstract

A hundred years ago, aluminum alloys began to be used in the manufacture of fishing boats and yachts abroad. The main reason is that the aluminum alloy has a light specific gravity. For the hull structure, the equivalent weight of the aluminum alloy is about 50% of the steel structure under the condition of meeting the same strength and satisfying the use of the ship. At the same time, aluminum alloy is easy to process, corrosion resistant, and fatigue resistant. Therefore, aluminum alloy is the first choice for light-duty ships for a long time.
