Abstract

Drawing upon interviews with Muslim educators, administrators, and parents in Muslim Mindanao, this chapter explores the sense of alienation many Muslim Filipinos feel toward their government and the mainstream of Philippine society. It attempts to give voice to Muslim Filipinos sense of dissatisfaction with key aspects of the public system of education available to them as well as their aspirations for the kind of education they would like to offer to their children.
