Abstract
This chapter recognizes a number of STI policies in Vietnam including tax incentives, policies to promote technology innovation capacity of enterprises, policies to promote research and production, and policies for the development of technology markets. The current STI system of Vietnam is the continuation of the S&T management system of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam starting in 1959 with the establishment of the State Committee for Science, Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, and finally Ministry of Science and Technology. The author has clearly shown the development of science, technology, and innovation policies of Vietnam from 1979–2013 and the suitability of Vietnam’s STI system to the trend of international S&T integration.
