Abstract
Large-scale unordered charging of electric vehicles (EV) will bring strong fluctuations to the power grid, as well as excessive wind power in the cooperation between wind farms and conventional hydropower plants. Therefore, it is proposed to consider the charging problem of electric vehicles in the wind power and hydropower synergetic system. Based on the wind power prediction curve, and then to control the output of the hydropower according to the actual output of wind power and the actual charging power of electric vehicles. Based on the actual data of wind power, hydropower and electric vehicle, the effectiveness of the proposed strategy is verified by simulation. When the wind power is less than what is required for scheduling, hydropower can well track the output of wind power. When the wind power is greater than what is required for scheduling, the orderly charging of electric vehicles should be considered before the turbine operation to absorb part of wind power. Wind power, electric vehicle and hydropower have good synergistic effect. Compared with wind power and hydropower synergistic system, wind power can be absorbed more, the utilization rate of wind power can be effectively improved, and wind curtailment can be reduced at the same time.
