Abstract
Critical appraisal of a clinical trial involves systematic examination of research to assess its reliability, value, and relevance in clinical decision making. Critical appraisal of the trial is a very important component in evidence-based practice. Each trial has to be scrutinized in various aspects like study design, arms, comparator arm, trial run and recruitment, outcomes, toxicity, potential confounders and bias, statistical methods, and ethical issues. The chapter summarizes on how to perform a critical appraisal of a clinical trial.
