Abstract
Quality assurance includes all procedures that ensure consistency of the medical prescription as regards dose to the target volume, together with minimal dose to normal tissue. Quality assurance aims to measure or evaluate the performance of the radiotherapy process. Quality assurance also aims to restore, maintain, or improve the quality of radiation treatment. The chapter briefly describes various quality assurance aspects for LINAC (linear accelerator) and brachytherapy.
