Abstract
Based on the theory of endogenous growth, the formation and evolution of the inter-regional division of labor and trade relations and the exploration of the new theory of economic geography, we empirically analyzed and investigated the intrinsic law of coordinated development of regional industries and reasonable spatial layout. The data of the Pearl River Delta from 2002 to 2010 and Shenzhen, Dongguan and Huizhou from 2004 to 2010 were selected to analyze the panel data model. The empirical analysis indicated that the industrial similarity of the Pearl River Delta had a positive relationship with economic growth. The system of estimation of the degree of coordination of regional industrial development was constructed, and the results revealed that the overall coordination of manufacturing development in Shenzhen, Dongguan and Huizhou showed a good upward trend. Taking Shenzhen, Dongguan and Huizhou as an example, we explored the coordinated development of regional industries and spatial layout strategies, and proposed a reasonable layout of large-scale industrial clusters and related policy suggestions based on the developmental strategy of city clusters, with a view to providing new ideas for the sustainable growth of regional economy with endogenous dynamics.
