Abstract
Opportunistic mycoses burden is increasing globally in critically ill patient, which is even more evident in the developing countries. These mycoses constitute predominantly of invasive candidiasis but also of a sizeable number of invasive aspergillosis and invasive mucormycosis. Epidemiological studies from Asian subcontinent have highlighted the prevalence of these organisms in ICU and changing demographics of fungi which is peculiar to this part of the world. Increasing multidrug resistant fungi and increasing resistance to azoles has also been described in these studies.
