Abstract
Energy, which is the most important element for development of nation, is not available in abundance in India. India, home to 18% of the world population (1.3 billion people), uses merely 5.3% of the world’s primary energy. The key challenge for India is to ensure that the energy is available and accessible to its 1.3 billion people at affordable price while meeting its obligations on carbon emissions.
