Abstract

Smart home is where humans adopt the software and hardware technology to control home appliances. Internet of Things has enabled all objects in the world to be associated with the Internet and communicate with each other with minimum human supervision. The existing smart home systems are based on older technology, and it is difficult for the end users to control the home appliance since their functionality which will be limited in scope. Also, there are concerns regarding security in the existing smart home systems because they can be easily hacked which might lead to bigger problems. Proposed IoT-based smart home system is designed and implemented to be secure and make it easy for the users to adapt to technology.
