Abstract

Aging is a natural human phenomenon and an irreversible part of our biological process. Hence, there are countries that are making stringent efforts to improve the quality of life of their aging population to ensure that they age with grace. Although the burden of caring for our aging population can be enormous in economic and human resource terms, this is not an excuse for not responding to the needs of the elderly when they need their governments and communities to step up to the plate the most, considering their contributions to the development of their societies in diverse professions and occupations when they were available, capable and able.
