Abstract
This chapter presents the standard specifications and the manufacturing process which contributes to enhance the mix design for ICBP. Factors governing mix design (e.g. strength, water content, surface texture of the block), and mix design methods (e.g. trial and error method, ACI, DOE, Particle optimization method) are investigated while being attentive towards issues relative to mix design: such as those germane to the appropriate maintenance of the water/cement ratio, improper aggregate gradation and improper curing methods. Furthering the purpose, considering all such facets a new mix design method is proposed, based on the industrial block manufacturing process and application, followed by a comprehensive explanation on its benefits and drawbacks.
