Abstract
Partial differential equations or PDEs are often encountered in science and engineering. Such equations arise when a quantity of interest, say u, is governed by a continuous differential law in more than one independent variable. Generally speaking, a PDE is accompanied by additional equations that hold on the boundary of the region defined by the independent variables. PDE solution in practice therefore becomes a boundary value problem (BVP), in which time t may also be present when the problem is time dependent.
