A comprehensive survey on different code families for Spectral Amplitude Coding–Optical Code Division Multiple Access (SAC–OCDMA) systems. Review on one- and two-dimensional codes reported is taken into account. Study indicates the feasibility of codes and further scope of these codes. System design of SAC–OCDMA is also explained.
