Abstract
Glaucoma drainage devices (GDDs) channel the aqueous from the anterior chamber of the eye through a tube to an equatorial plate. GDDs have become the primary surgery of choice in refractory glaucomas like post-penetrating keratoplasty glaucoma, glaucoma following retinal surgery, neovascular glaucoma, and irido-corneal endothelial syndrome and in patients with scarred conjunctiva. They are frequently used in cases with failed trabeculectomy surgery also.
