Abstract

This chapter introduces the existing underwater real-time three-dimensional (3-D) acoustical imaging systems, and summarizes key techniques such as two-dimensional (2-D) array design and fast beamforming in developing the systems. This chapter also points out that all the practical developed 3-D systems work in narrowband, and next-generation underwater real-time 3-D imaging system should be wideband. The structure of this book is also shown.
