Abstract
This book systematically gives the description approaches and generalization algorithms of groups/clusters of features on 2-dimensional maps and summarizes latest and newest advancements in map generalization and multi-scale representation of geo-spatial information, for the purpose of laying a foundation for future research work and finding potential research issues.
