Abstract

The synthesis of a new class of π-conjugated polymers possessing versatile element-blocks is described. That is, regioregular organotitanium polymers having titanacyclopentadiene-2,5-diyl units, which are obtained from a low-valent titanium complex and diynes, are subjected to the polymer reactions with elements-containing electrophiles to produce π-conjugated polymers possessing unique element-blocks. Optoelectronic features of the resulting element-blocks π-conjugated polymers are also described.
