Abstract
The coordinated development of population urbanization and employment in urban areas is an important issue in the process of China’s economic and social development. On the one hand, the rapid development of population urbanization may intensify the contradictions between the supply and demand of urban labor, hence creating a great pressure on urban development in terms of employment; on the other hand, the segmentation of the labor market caused by institutional factors may impede the effective transfer of the rural labor force to urban areas and affect the speed and quality of population urbanization.
