Abstract
The Fuzzy logic controller-based single-phase bridgeless Cuk PFC converter with positive output voltage is proposed in this paper. This converter is used for both buck and boost operations. In case of low voltage output applications, it acts in buck mode which converts high input voltage to low output voltage. Whereas for applications involving high output voltage, it operates in boost mode which converts low input voltage into high output voltage. The conduction losses are reduced and efficiency of this system can be improved due to the absence of bridge diodes. Since bridge diodes are absent, the rectifier has a single switch, thus reducing the complexity of the circuit. The current loop circuit is not required, as discontinuous mode of operation is involved in rectifier. The simulation is put into execution by using MATLAB/Simulink software. The results of both open and closed loop were executed and compared. In closed loop, Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC) provides reduced output voltage ripple with less settling time and better power factor.
